Written documentation on this uniform:
September 17, 1869, Pastime, Baltimore, v. Maryland, Baltimore, in Baltimore: “The Pastime appeared in a new and handsome uniform–white caps trimmed with blue braid, white shirts ornamented similarly, white corduroy knee-breeches with blue silk cord at the side, and maroon-colored stockings with black stripes. (Red, white and blue plaid stockings will be substituted for these in a short time.)” From the Baltimore American & Commercial Advertiser, September 18, 1869. Research from Richard Hershberger. Note, it is possible the red, white and blue plaid stockings were never created as the team was described as wearing red and black plaid stockings in April 1870.

Team genealogy:
Pastime was formed in Baltimore, Maryland, when two local clubs, Excelsior and Waverly, merged in late 1860. Pastime was a member of the National Association of Base Ball Players (NABBP), baseball’s first organization operating 1857-1870. The club chose to remain amateur with the advent of open professionalism in 1869 and played their last competitive games in 1870. –Information from Peter Morris and others, Base Ball Pioneers, 1850-1870 (2012).
