August 1875: “The Xantha Base Ball Club met last night […] The Xs have decided upon the adoption of the following uniform: white cap, pantaloons and shirts, and blue and gray stockings. The word ‘Xantha’ is to be in full across the breast instead of the letter X as at present.” From the Pittsburgh Daily Post, August 19, 1875. Research from Andy Terrick.

August 1875: “The Xanthas held a meeting last evening. […] A new uniform was decided on, consisting of white caps, pants and shirts, and gray and blue stockings. Team genealogy: Xantha, Pittsburgh, 1865-1870s
Xantha originating in 1865 as a boating club situated in Allegheny City, PA (now known as Pittsburgh’s North Side). The Xantha Club fielded one of the top amateur baseball teams in Western PA during the early to mid-1870s. Information from Andy Terrick, submitted December 18, 2017.
