April 1879: “The directors of the Albany Base Ball Club…[have] decided that the uniform for the coming season should consist of white shirts and knee breeches with red trimmings and red stockings. This will be a natty uniform.” From the Albany Evening Journal, April 4, 1879. A similar report was published in the Boston Globe, April 8, 1879.
