February 1886: “The Savannah, Ga., club has adopted a uniform consisting of blue caps, pantaloons and shirts, with old gold stockings, belts and trimmings.” From the New York Herald, February 3, 1886.

February 1886: “The Savannah club have ordered their uniforms. They will be blue caps, shirts and pants, with old gold stockings, belt and trimmings.” From the Chattanooga (TN) Commercial, February 10, 1886. Research from Just Mckinney.

February 1886: “The Savannah uniform will be blue shirts, pants and caps, old gold stockings and belt; Augusta’s white shirts, pants and caps, red stockings and belts; Charleston’s, light gray shirts, pants and caps and blue stockings and belt; Macon’s will be dark gray shirts, pants and caps and red stockings and belts; Chattanooga’s light gray shirts, pants and caps and maroon stocking and belt; Atlanta’s, blue shirts and pants and white stockings and belts. Memphis has not selected her uniforms yet.” From the Savannah Morning News, February 24, 1886.

March 1886: “Savannah, GA., March 5. […] The uniform for the home team and other paraphernalia for the club arrived Wednesday [March 3, 1886] and the boys donned the new suits at practice Thursday. They consisted of dark-blue shirts, pants and caps, old gold stockings and belts and shoe gear to match. On the left breast of the suits is the letter ‘S’ embroidered in old gold.” From The Sporting Life, March 10, 1886. Research from Ed Morton. The wording “shoe gear” may be referring to the shoe laces, which may have been old gold in color.

April 1886: “The Savannahs will have a new uniform. It will be the same as the Detroits, red stockings, blue pants, red belt, white shirt with Savannah across the breast and white cap.” From the Savannah (GA) Morning News, April 10, 1886.
