Visual documentation on this uniform:
Photo A
Dated 1887. Players wore a white uniform in this photo with dark lettering, belts and stockings. A contemporary newspaper report described the uniform as white, with green belt and stockings. Photo shows that there were variances in the lettering on the shirt. Some shirts had larger spacing between the “LY” and “NN” in the center of the shirt, and some shirts had the lettering higher on the chest when compared to others in photo. Player seated far right in photo appeared to have lettering that was poorly made and presumably hand-cut in an attempt to match other uniforms in photo. Image from Sean Corcoran.
