April 1892: “The Memphis team made a splendid appearance as they marched out upon the diamond. They are an athletic, active set […in] their uniforms of steel gray and black.” From The Sporting Life, April 23, 1892. Research from Chuck McGill. This report also called the Memphis team the “Bluff City lads.”

April 1892: “The Bluff City boys arrived two days ago. […] Their uniforms have also arrived and will be worn at the opening game. They are steel gray, with black caps, stockings and belt.” From the New Orleans Times-Democrat, April 14, 1892. Research from Chuck McGill.


Team genealogy: Memphis 1892-1895
