February 1893: “The Chattanooga team’s uniforms have been selected, and will consist of two sets—one dark blue flannel, with red belt and stockings, and a white cap trimmed with red; the other will be light gray, with black stockings and black cap and the word ‘Chattanooga’ worked in black letters across the breast.” From The Sporting Life, February 18, 1893. February 1893: “The Chattanooga Club will be the best dressed team in the South the coming season. There will be two uniforms, one for the road and one to wear at home. The road uniform will be pearl gray, with black cap, black belt and black stockings. The home uniform will be dark blue, with red stockings, red belt and white cap with red trimmings.” From the Tennessean (Nashville), February 16, 1893. Research from Chuck McGill and from Don Stokes. Note that this report described the dark uniform as the home uniform.

April 1893: “Most teams in the Southern League have already received one or more nicknames. For instance, the Chattanooga Club is otherwise titled the Warriors and [the] Plucky City team.” From The Sporting Life, April 15, 1893.

Chattanooga joined the Southern League (SL) in 1892 when the league reformed. The reorganized SL operated between 1892 and 1896 and folded after the 1896 season.
