February 1896: “On account of [a league team from] Sherman [TX] having adopted maroon and black, the San Antonio uniform has been changed to dark green caps, shirts and pants, with old gold lettering, belts and stockings and white sweaters.” From The Sporting Life, February 22, 1896. April 1896: “The San Antonio players will be photographed in a 14 x 20-inch group on Monday [April 13, 1896], the pictures to be used on the road for advertising purposes. San Antonio’s new uniforms are very striking and pretty.
