It is likely some players were drawn from photographs taken in the early 1860s or late 1850s and therefore uniforms depicted may not reflect the year 1865. Years player with team from Marshall D. Team genealogy: Eureka, Newark, 1860-1868
Eureka was formed in Newark, NJ, before the 1860 season and subsequently joined the National Association of Base Ball Players (NABBP), baseball’s first organization operating 1857-1870. Eureka chose to remain amateur with the era of open professionalism approaching and subsequently played their last competitive games in 1868.
