September 9, 2026 — What we know (and don’t know) about a famous photo from 1859.

Two historic teams, a milestone meeting -– and a new location for baseball. This well-known image has it all. But over 165 years later, we still don’t know everything there is to know. We can’t pinpoint exactly who was who in the photo, or look at a map and say exactly where the two teams played. This is my attempt to turn these unknowns into knowns.
